L.A. Care’s Chief Quality and Information Executive on National Panel to Discuss 2021 Medicaid Health Plan Survey

The Institute for Medicaid Innovation (IMI) has released Medicaid Access & Care in 2020: Results from IMI’s 2021 Annual Medicaid Health Play Survey. In a webinar today, health care experts, including L.A. Care’s Chief Quality and Information Executive, Katrina Miller Parrish, MD, will discuss key takeaways of the survey on topics that include health equity and structural racism, social determinants of health, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey found that managed care Medicaid plans rose to the challenge of an unprecedented health crisis, transitioning to telehealth and expanded service offerings.

This was IMI’s fourth annual survey, and the Medicaid health plans that responded to the survey represented 67 percent of all covered lives in Medicaid managed care across the country.

In addition to the topics mentioned earlier, other critical elements of the Medicaid program that are highlighted in the report include high-risk care coordination, value-based purchasing, pharmacy, behavioral health, women’s health, children and adolescent health, and managed long-term services and supports.

As a representative of the largest publicly operated health plan in the country, serving more than two million Medicaid (Medi-Cal) beneficiaries, Dr. Parrish will be able to offer important insights on the survey findings and how Medicaid plans can use the report to better serve their members.

The webinar, which is free to the public, is today from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm PT. Register for the webinar here.
