We've got the most affordable health coverage option in L.A. County, and one of the largest provider networks for Covered California™.

L.A. Care Covered ™ plans offer the same basic benefits across all coverage levels.
Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum are the four levels, which are also called metal tiers. The main difference between metal tiers is the monthly premium amount and out-of-pocket costs when services are used.
The Inflation Reduction Act and state legislation provide expanded financial help resulting in premiums as low as $0 per month depending on your income. You may qualify for these expanded subsidies.

Which Is Right for Me?
When you're choosing a plan, think about how often you see a doctor and use services. It may work out better for you to pay a higher monthly premium so that you spend less on your co-pays.
- How many times did you see a doctor this past year?
- Did you fill any prescriptions on a regular basis?
- Do you think your use of health care will increase, decrease, or remain the same in 2023?
- Did you have more out-of-pocket expenses than you expected?
Your premium is based on age, ZIP code, household size, projected household income, the type of plan you select and the health insurer you choose.

Minimum Coverage
L.A. Care also offers a Minimum Coverage plan for people under 30. This is known as a “Catastrophic Plan” and has no co-pays. It is the least expensive premium with the highest deductible. In case of a medical emergency it provides protection and offers three primary visits before you have to meet a deductible. You can apply for a Hardship Waiver from Covered California if you’re over 30 and need this lower cost option.
