Two L.A. Care Staffers to Moderate Panels at a High Profile Health Care Conference

Misty de Lamare, Director of Communications, and Candace Nafissi, Senior Communications and Community Relations Specialist at L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly operated health plan in the country, are moderating panels at The RISE Women in Health Care Leadership Summit. The panels, led by pioneering senior-level women, will provide the tools and inspiration needed for attendees to propel their careers to the next level. The two-day virtual summit, which starts today, will include high-quality content, networking roundtables and industry updates.

The RISE Association is a network of health care professionals addressing the challenges posed by the emerging landscape of value-based care and government health care reform. The association’s mission is to provide a community for health care professionals to gather for networking, education, and collaboration as they stay ahead and advance their careers.

de Lamare is moderating a panel this afternoon titled Find Your Allies, Collaborators and Partners for Success. The panel will include topics like the role of men as allies, effective mentoring, and enlisting allies to create a culture that fosters diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. Nafissi is moderating a morning panel titled Self Advocacy – Becoming Your Own Champion. This panel will include discussion about personal brand, self-awareness, and developing a path to leadership and work, both in the health care field and in the community.

The summit will address challenges and take an in depth look at a wide variety of issues women in leadership face every day. Both de Lamare and Nafissi are steering committee members of the L.A. Care Women in Leadership Employee Resource Group.
