St. John’s Community Health is holding its 2022 Moveable Feast this weekend, during which they will bestow its Champion Award upon John Baackes, the CEO of L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly operated health plan in the country. St. John’s is honoring Baackes for his leadership of the plan that allows millions of Los Angeles County residents to receive access to quality and affordable health care.
St. John’s strives for health equity, addressing the health care needs of low-income people in Central and South Los Angeles and Compton, providing health care and social services to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay. L.A. Care and Baackes are longtime supporters of St. John’s efforts and are proud to be recognized during this 8th annual fundraising event. St. John’s is also recognizing April Verrett, President of SEIU Local 2015. She is receiving the Visionary Award.
During the Movable Feast, L.A.’s best restaurants come together to donate their time, talent and passion to promote access to health services for underserved Angelenos.
