L.A. Care Sponsors First National Black Men Physicians Day

The Sponsorship Will Help Fund Scholarships for Black Male Medical Students

L.A. Care is proud to provide a sponsorship for the inaugural National Black Men Physicians Day at SoFi Stadium. The Coalition of Black Men Physicians is hosting the event with proceeds going toward scholarships for black male medical students.

Black men make up fewer than three percent of physicians across the country. The Coalition of Black Men Physicians is working to address barriers that prevent Black men from getting into and through medical school. The coalition hopes to create greater awareness about the health equity gap that is widened by a lack of Black men in medicine. This work aligns with L.A. Care’s commitment to health equity, which means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible.

The event will include dinner, field games, a tour of the executive suites at the stadium, and networking.

The National Black Men Physicians Day event is being held:

Monday, September 12
3:30 pm – 7:00 pm
SoFi Stadium
1011 Stadium Drive, Inglewood, CA
