L.A. Care to Host Facebook Live Public Transportation Series

With gas prices rising to record levels, more people are exploring public transportation options. Studies show access to public transportation can improve health and health equity. That’s why L.A. Care Health Plan is hosting a series of Facebook Live events on public transportation in collaboration with LA Metro.

Lack of access to public transportation disproportionately harms the people who need it most – poor people of color, older adults and individuals with disabilities. But some people may not know what is available. L.A. Care’s series of three live events will help educate the audience about public transportation in Los Angeles County. Brittany Mullins, a Senior Community Relations Officer at LA Metro will give presentations during each live event, discussing:

  • How people can get reduced fares
  • Trip planning and safety tips
  • Programs to educate people about public transportation

Here are the details about the three events:

  • Wednesday, June 1 – 1:00 pm – What is a TAP Card?
  • Wednesday, June 8 – 1:00 pm – Using Public Transportation
  • Wednesday, June 15 – 1:00 pm – Metro Community Enrichment Programs

This Facebook Live series is another way that L.A. Care has committed to advancing health equity for its members and their communities.
