L.A. Care CEO Joins Panel at Los Angeles Business Journal’s Health Care Leadership Symposium

The Los Angeles Business Journal is hosting its 2022 Health Care Leadership Symposium today, which will bring together L.A.’s leading health industry executives for a virtual roundtable discussion on the health care system and businesses in Southern California. Among those joining the panel is John Baackes, the CEO of L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation’s largest publicly operated health plan.

Baackes will touch on three topics during the panel discussion. He will offer an explanation of the different types of health coverage offered to Californians, and what each type of plan means for beneficiaries. He will also talk about L.A. Care being the only functioning public option in California, offering both Medi-Cal and a plan on the state’s Affordable Care Act exchange. And lastly, he will discuss California Advancing and innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), the long-term commitment to transform and strengthen Medi-Cal, offering Californians a more equitable, coordinated​, and person-centered approach to maximizing their health.​​​​
