L.A. Care is proud to announce that we will be launching a new Provider Portal in October 2024. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about the launch.

When is the new Provider Portal launching?

The new Provider Portal is coming soon.

What is changing in the new Provider Portal?

The new Provider Portal provides an intuitive, user-friendly interface that supports easy adoption of this exciting new technology; enhanced capabilities that allows you to do more online and streamlined process flows that enable you to interact more efficiently with us through the portal.

Where can I access the new Provider Portal?

This information will be shared in our pre-recorded trainings and future communications as we get closer to launch. For the most up to date information, please continue to visit the Provider Portal Hub webpage.

How do I get access to the new Provider Portal?

Providers will have the ability to request access through their Provider Portal Administrator or Provider Network Account Manager. Provider Portal Administrators are external users (non-L.A. Care) that have the ability to create, manage, and delete user accounts.

  • Provider Portal Admins will automatically get a registration link from Salesforce upon launch of the new Provider Portal to set up their registration.
  • Providers contracted through a PPG will need to register through their PPG Provider Portal Admin.
  • For users that are not in the role of a Provider Portal Admin and would like to register, please contact your Provider Portal Administrator or Provider Network Account Manager. 
How can I find out who my organization’s Provider Portal Admin is?

Please contact your Provider Network Account Manager to determine who your organization's Provider Portal Admin is. 

How do I know if I am a Provider Portal Admin?

Provider Portal Admins are users that have been identified by your organization as responsible parties to administer and oversee accounts. Provider Portal Admins will be engaged directly by L.A. Care for training and other important resources.

Portal Admins will receive a registration link from Salesforce upon launch of the new Provider Portal to set up their accounts and register users. 

What other User Roles are available in the new Provider Portal?

Other user roles available in the new Provider Portal are:

  • General authorized user
  • Entity key contact/ Attestation user
  • Billing/MSO/ Claims user

Your organization's Provider Portal Administrator can provide other users access to these specific roles. If you have questions, please reach out to your provider network account manager.

Where can I find trainings on the new Provider Portal?

Pre-recorded trainings will be available on the L.A. Care Provider Portal Hub webpage.

Can I request training for my team/staff?

L.A. Care will offer additional training options to providers further down the line post go live. Stay tuned for details on those options after the new portal launches. In the interim, please access pre-recorded trainings and other resources in the L.A. Care Provider Portal Hub.

Will L.A. Care host any live trainings for the Provider Portal?

L.A. Care will host one live-recorded training for all Provider Portal Administrators. All other pre-recorded trainings can be accessed on the L.A. Care Provider Portal Hub web page.

Additionally, L.A. Care will be hosting upcoming Quarterly Provider Portal webinars.
 

Who do I contact if I need assistance?

If you have general questions about the Provider Portal, please reach out to your Provider Network Account Manager. 

Will L.A. Care host office hours series or a Q&A series to support questions from providers?

Yes, we will be hosting an office hours series once the Provider Portal launches. Please regularly check on the Provider Portal Hub for further information.

If you need immediate assistance, please reach out to your Provider Network Account Manager.

Do you know when the current provider portal will be sunset?

Details on the sunset of the Legacy Provider Portal will be posted in the Legacy Provider Portal, however, for now the current portal will remain active.

Will the Legacy Provider Portal be running simultaneously with the new portal?

Yes, both portals will run simultaneously for a period of time. Details on this will be shared through future trainings and communications. 

What is the timeline of the historical data on the new portal?

Eligibility: 24 months

Claims: 18 months

Authorizations: 12 months
 

What is the timeline of the reporting look-back period of the new portal?

All reporting will continue to remain on the Legacy Provider Portal (current portal). It will transition to the new portal in a future phase. Please continue to use Legacy Provider Portal located here, Legacy Provider Portal, to access reporting.

Is there a Provider Portal handbook or guide?

Prerecorded training materials and reference guides for select functionality will be available on the L.A. Care Provider Portal Hub web page in the coming weeks.
