CDC Health Advisory: Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) Associated with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a health advisory on May 14, 2020 to provide background information on several cases of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19 and a case definition for this syndrome.

Please note that this case definition supersedes the definition in the 5/12/20 LAHAN.

CDC recommends healthcare providers report any patient who meets the case definition to local, state, and territorial health departments to enhance knowledge of risk factors, pathogenesis, clinical course, and treatment of this syndrome.
