As a primary care physician in Los Angeles, you serve one of the nation's most diverse patient populations—residents from approximately 140 countries speaking 80 different languages. Your practice likely reflects the city's rich demographic makeup: 50% Latino, 16% Asian, and 9% Black/African American residents1.
Why This Matters to Your Practice:
Your clinical expertise directly impacts health equity for our diverse Medi-Cal members. To support your critical role, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) now requires all providers to complete specialized Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)/Health Equity training.
Action Required:
- Current Providers: Complete training by December 31, 2025
- New Providers: Complete within 90 days of start date
- Delivery Method: Training link forthcoming from L.A. Care
This evidence-based training will enhance your ability to deliver culturally responsive care, address social determinants of health, and improve outcomes for underserved populations.
