New Updates and Priority Reminders Based on the Bright Futures Periodicity Schedule:
- Well-Child Visits:
- Children between 0-15 months need 6 visits.
- Children between 15-30 months require two visits with priority on the 15-month and 18-month appointments.
- Ensure lead screening and children are up to date on vaccinations.
- Newborn Visits:
- Emphasizes on the 3–5-day visit.
- Early Body Mass Index (BMI) screening for obesity management.
- Screening for children and adolescents of:
- Behavioral
- Emotional
- Social
- Screening for usage of:
- Alcohol
- Drug
- Tobacco
- Naloxone recommendations for opioid overdose risk.
- Newborn bilirubin screening updates.
- Oral health:
- Two fluoride varnish applications per year for children and adolescents.
