State of Emergency Special Enrollment Period: Qualifying Life Event (QLE) Extended Time Limit

If you were affected by the January 2025 wildfires, please view this notice about Special Enrollment.

Californians affected by a natural or human-caused disaster (such as wildfires) that results in a Governor’s State of Emergency proclamation may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).

SEP is specifically designed for California residents who have undergone a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), encompassing occurrences such as natural and human-caused disasters, as well as *other qualifying events.

In the wake of the devastating wildfire events within Los Angeles County, the Special Enrollment Period has been extended to assist affected residents in obtaining health coverage.  The table below shows the current state of emergency list, the Qualifying Life Event Date (QLE), such as wildfire events and the last day to select a plan (SEP End Date).

To see if you qualify or for more information, please contact us at 1.855.270.2327 (TTY 711) Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
