Housing Deposits

Housing Deposits assist with identifying, coordinating, securing, or funding one-time services and modifications necessary to enable a person to establish a basic household, such as:

  • Security deposits
  • Set-up fees/deposits for utilities or service access and utility arrearages 
  • First month's coverage of utilities
  • First last month's rent
  • Pest eradication and one-time cleaning prior to occupancy
  • Goods such as an air conditioner or heater, and other medically-necessary adaptive aids and services that are necessary to ensure access and safety for the individual upon move-in to the home

Housing Deposits services do not include the provision of room and board or payment of rental costs beyond the first and last month's coverage.

Eligibility Criteria

Request Pathway

Contracted providers may submit a Housing Deposits request for their eligible Homeless and Housing Support Services (HHSS) enrolled members who are moving into permanent housing. Housing Navigation services must be provided in conjunction with Housing Deposits.

Housing Deposits providers are able to refer their eligible HHSS members for Housing Deposits services by completing the Housing Deposits Services Request for Funds Form and providing the required supporting documents via secure fax.
