The Web Marketing Association just announced its 2021 WebAwards winners, and L.A. Care Health Plan won Best Intranet Website. The L.A. Care Intranet, renamed laci, recently underwent a strategic redesign that turned it into a space where employees can learn and engage.
The design and content on laci is largely employee-influenced and driven. Employee stories are at the forefront on laci and employee ideas are nurtured, creating a deeper sense of pride in the health plan and in one another.
The site includes a new-hire section with quotes from new employees. Employee blogs are a popular feature, with a wide range of relevant and impactful topics, like mental health, a family’s struggle with COVID-19, and fighting anti-Asian hate. Other sections include employee-hosted discussion forums and a one-step feedback loop.
The site also delivers an effective way for L.A. Care departments and leaders to publicize important organizational information and to promote milestones, events, and initiatives.
Since 1997, the WebAwards have been recognized as the premier industry-based website award program in the world. The best intranet website is selected based on seven criteria:
- Design
- Ease of Use
- Copywriting
- Interactivity
- Use of technology
- Innovation
- Content
L.A. Care’s intranet website clearly scored high in all areas and as a result, laci unites the organization, breaking down silos, and hitting a tone that is engaging, inclusive, and kind.
