L.A. Care and One of the Most Popular Medical Groups in L.A. are Here to Help as the Covered California Open Enrollment Deadline is Fast Approaching

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of having quality and affordable health insurance. Insurance coverage has certainly given people some peace of mind during the health crisis that has taken a tragic toll nationwide. But, for those without coverage, time is running out. The deadline to enroll in a plan offered on the Covered California exchange is Sunday, January 31, and unlike last year, it appears the state will not extend that deadline.

L.A. Care Health Plan, the only public plan on the Covered California Exchange with its L.A. Care Covered™ product line, is co-hosting four webinars with Optum Medical Group to help Los Angeles County residents make informed decisions about their health coverage. There will be two in English and two in Spanish. While health care is complicated, and the enrollment process can seem daunting, L.A. Care will have experts on each webinar to help explain the process.

The webinars will help people understand which metal tier plan might be best for them and their family. L.A. Care already has among the most affordable plans in Los Angeles County, but the webinars will help attendees determine if they are eligible for federal and state subsidies that make premiums even more affordable. An estimated 90 percent of L.A. Care Covered™ members qualify for a subsidy, with some paying as little as $1 per month for health coverage.

The webinars are:

Tuesday, January 26 – 10:00-11:00 am (English)  http://bit.ly/lacare26
Tuesday, January 26 – 5:00-6:00 pm (Spanish)  http://bit.ly/lacare26b

L.A. Care is proud to collaborate with Optum on these four webinars. Optum is one of the largest medical groups in Los Angeles and offers a wide variety of services to L.A. Care Covered™ members all across Los Angeles County.

L.A. Care is committed to helping Angelenos maintain health coverage through every stage of life, and it prioritizes health care quality, access and inclusion – elevating health care for all of L.A.
