L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly operated health plan in the nation serving more than 2.9 million members in Los Angeles County, is proud to announce that it has won the WebAwards 2023 Health Care Standard of Excellence for its Community Resource Centers website. The website provides valuable information about the twelve Community Resource Centers, which are jointly operated by L.A. Care and its plan partner Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan.
The website’s primary audience consists of health plan members, as well as members of the community who are seeking to improve their overall well-being. The website provides information about all of the free events and services at each center. There are free fitness, nutrition and healthy cooking classes. The centers also connect visitors with important social services and can help visitors with health plan enrollment or other needs. The goal of the website is to drive in-person visits to each of the centers so individuals and families can stay active, healthy and informed.
Each website entry was scored on seven criteria. The Community Resource Center website scored high for ease of use, copywriting, content and design. The website also adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), which means visually impaired visitors are able to easily use the website.
The Web Marketing Association, founded in 1997, produces the WebAwards, which are dedicated to naming the best website in 97 industries while setting an overall standard of excellence in website development.
