Top Practitioners, Clinics and Provider Groups Recognized for Excellent Care
LOS ANGELES – L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, announced the recipients of the plan’s second annual Provider Recognition Awards. The dedicated commitment by the honorees has helped to strengthen the provider safety net in Los Angeles County, which has benefitted L.A. Care members.
“We are truly grateful for these providers who have made high-quality patient care a priority,” said John Baackes, L.A. Care CEO. “We are happy to acknowledge their commitment to providing excellent care to the most vulnerable in L.A. County.”
The 2019 top awardees are:
Top Performing Practitioner – Mi-Jeong Lee, M.D.
Top Performing Clinic – Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc.
Top Performing IPA – PMA/Axminster Medical Group
Dr. Mi-Jeong Lee, the Top Performing Practitioner, is a pediatrician practicing in the Koreatown neighborhood. She started her private practice in Los Angeles in 2000. She received her medical degree from the Seoul National University in 1982.
Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, the Top Performing Clinic, is a nonprofit community health center providing personalized, quality health care services in a culturally accessible manner. It began operating in 1986, and now has five locations stretching from Hollywood to El Monte.
PMA/Axminster Medical Group, the Top Performing IPA, has been in business for more than 50 years. It is a multi-specialty group of dedicated physicians, nurses and support staff.
The awardees were chosen based on an internal performance rating system used by L.A. Care to determine quality of care being provided. They are being honored at an awards dinner on Wednesday, January 29 at L.A. Care.
