LOS ANGELES – L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, announced that George Greene, the President and CEO of the Hospital Association of Southern California, and Courtney Powers, Director of Government and External Affairs at the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County, have joined L.A. Care's Board of Governors.
L.A. Care is fortunate to have these two accomplished individuals join our board. Their experience in the health care industry and beyond will be of great value to our members.

The Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) has more than 180 member hospitals across six counties, including Los Angeles County. Greene will represent Private Non-Disproportionate Share Hospitals on the board. Prior to joining the Hospital Association of Southern California, Greene served as the President/CEO of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee.

The Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC) is an association of 65 community clinics serving underserved patients. Prior to joining CCALAC, Powers served as vice president and general counsel to GRACE, a non-profit organization that strives to address child poverty in California. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from UCLA School of Law.
"I am pleased to serve as the representative for county clinics which serve so many L.A. Care members," said Powers. "I look forward to working with the other board members and plan leadership to pursue our common vision of healthy communities and a strong safety net."
L.A. Care's Board of Governors is a 13-member stakeholder board, which includes representatives of various stakeholder groups, including community clinics, doctors, plan members and the County of Los Angeles, among others.
