.A. Care Health Plan is proud to announce today that it has committed $25,000 to the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce OneLA Inclusive Procurement program. The innovative program launched in 2019 to provide easier contract opportunities for local, small and diverse businesses. L.A. Care’s sponsorship will pay tuition for up to 10 eligible small business to participate in the next session of the OneLA training program. The program aims to build stronger small businesses, especially those owned by women and minorities, by helping them develop the knowledge necessary to compete for contracts.
The next session of the three-phase, six-month program kicks off on Wednesday, June 1. The first phase includes a contractor boot camp, with training on things like expansion planning, financial stability, project management and certifications. Phases two and three will offer one-on-one direct consulting, coaching, proposal writing, and marketing. The businesses will also benefit from specialized matchmaking and relationship building that will prepare these businesses to land contracts with larger companies.
This sponsorship is in alignment with L.A. Care’s efforts to advance income equity and is a project of the L.A. Care Equity Council.
