L.A. Care's Speakers Bureau

The L.A. Care's Speakers Bureau is a free service offered to associations and organizations in Los Angeles County. The goal of the Speakers Bureau is to help our community learn more about the complex and ever-changing world of health care and health care reform, as well as programs available through L.A. Care and our partners.

The Speakers Bureau facilitates requests for presentations on various topics, which can tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of the group. Speakers include L.A. Care's leadership team, doctors, nurses, trained health promoters and other health care experts with a wide range of expertise.

Available Topics

 

Affordable Care Act (ACA) — provides a broad overview of the federal health care law and how it has changed the way health care is delivered.

California's Health Care Marketplace/Exchange — offers a more detailed look at our state's role in the ACA as California's Health Care Exchange, more commonly known as Covered California.

Coordinated Care Initiative — gives an overview of California's Coordinated Care Initiative and L.A. Care's work in Cal MediConnect and Managed Long-Term Services and Supports.

Cal MediConnect — covers the joint federal and state program Cal MediConnect, discussing L.A. Care's efforts to integrate the medical, social, and mental health services provided to seniors and people with disabilities who are eligible for Medi-Cal and Medicare.

Family Resource Centers — provides a look at L.A. Care's health and wellness community centers, which offer free health education and exercise classes, health screenings and other services. Locations include Boyle Heights, East L.A., Inglewood, Lynwood, Pacoima, Palmdale and Pomona (opening November 2019).
