October 24-30 is Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. Screening for lead is an effective way to detect blood lead levels in children, prevent blood lead poisoning, and improve health outcomes for our youngest members.
The Department of Health Care Services requires that children enrolled in Medi-Cal be screened for lead. For more information, review the All Plan Letter from DHCS.
