Pomona Community Health Center Celebrates Grand Opening

LOS ANGELES—(March 6, 2013)—Howard A. Kahn, CEO of L.A. Care Health Plan,  the nation’s largest public health plan, will join Pomona Community Health Center’s CEO Carmen Ibarra in celebrating the clinic’s grand opening today, March 6, at 3:30 p.m.

“It is with great excitement that I celebrate with Carmen and her team, as they officially unveil this new center that will be the home to high quality health care for the entire community,” says Kahn. “When L.A. Care made the decision to partner with the Pomona Community Health Center with more than $200,000 in grants, we were inspired by the clinic’s robust plans for its first two years of operation. We know that this clinic, and all of its health care professionals, will do great things for our community.”

With its expanded space, Pomona Community Health Center plans to increase its patient visits from 8,000 to 13,000 in its first full year of operation, an increase of nearly 40 percent.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to provide better health care with greater accessibility for everyone,” explains Ibarra. “Our new home in the Pomona Unified School District Village Complex will allow us to have an even bigger impact on those we serve, our reason for being.”
