Dhanusha Maniyambath, the Senior Director of Technology Solutions and Support Services at L.A. Care Health Plan, was honored to be invited to participate in the Avasant Empowering Beyond Summit 2024, a three-day event in Los Angeles that brought together hundreds of IT executives and thought leaders. This year’s summit was titled Enlightened Disruption: Harnessing Innovation to Navigate Uncertainty. Maniyambath sat on a panel that delved into artificial intelligence (AI) in health care.
The panel was titled AI Powered Healthcare: Advancements, Challenges, and Opportunities. Maniyambath spoke about the application of AI in health care and discussed how L.A. Care might be able to use the technology while maintaining security. L.A. Care is currently laying the foundation for AI adoption, defining challenges and problems that can be solved with the application of AI tools, and articulating the benefits and risks of each tooling approach. Maniyambath explained that there are regulatory considerations, which are expected to change as rapidly as the technology evolves. The health plan is committed to ensuring that all technology acts ethically and in the best interest of its members, providers, and employees.
