L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, welcomes George Greene, the President and CEO of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), and Courtney Powers, Director of Government and External Affairs at Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC), to its Board of Governors.

"L.A. Care is fortunate to have these two accomplished individuals join our board," said L.A. Care CEO John Baackes. "Their experience in the health care industry and beyond will be of great value to our members."

HASC has more than 180 member hospitals across six counties, including Los Angeles County. Greene will represent Private NonDisproportionate Share Hospitals on L.A. Care’s 13-member stakeholder board. "This is an exciting time to be on the L.A. Care Board,” said Greene. "The health plan has grown dramatically in recent years, and I am happy to help ensure each member continues to receive high quality care."

CCALAC is an association of 65 community clinics serving underserved patients. "I am pleased to serve as the representative for community clinics which serve so many L.A. Care members," said Powers. "I look forward to working with the other board members and plan leadership to pursue our common vision of healthy communities and a strong safety net."

Prior to joining CCALAC, Powers provided legal counsel to GRACE, a non-profit addressing child poverty in California. Greene served as the President/CEO of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii before joining HASC.
