L.A. Care Health Plan is celebrating the 2nd anniversary of its Lynwood Family Resource Center this November.
The Center, which is located in Plaza Mexico, provides free health education and exercise classes, health screenings, member services and assistance with health care coverage to the Lynwood community. Click on this sentence for Center location and hours of operation.
The Center has grown more and more popular over the last two years as word of the free classes spreads across the community. The Lynwood Center now receives more than 2,000 visits each month.
In addition to free periodic health screenings for blood pressure, weight and vision, some of the free health education classes include: salsa dance aerobics, children’s physical fitness, parenting workshops, healthy cooking demonstrations, and diabetes disease management.
