L.A. Care Health Plan Announces Efforts To Drive Marketplace Enrollment

LOS ANGELES – L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation’s largest publicly operated health plan, is pleased to launch its advertising and community outreach efforts for its new product line, L.A. Care Covered™. L.A. Care Covered™ is one of six Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) in Los Angeles County chosen by Covered California, the state’s health benefits Marketplace.

L.A. Care’s advertising campaign launches this week in transit centers, grocery stores, provider offices, clinics, and through various media channels, including radio stations, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

As a new product, L.A. Care Covered™ is in keeping with the organization’s strong support of both national health care reform and Medi-Cal expansion. It will provide yet another vehicle to ensure that low-income individuals and families have access to high quality health care.

“L.A. Care firmly believes that our participation in Covered California is a perfect complement to the services we already provide to more than one million members,” said Howard A. Kahn, Chief Executive Officer of L.A. Care Health Plan. “For the first time, entire families can stay in the same health plan regardless of changes in income or age, from birth through senior years. L.A. Care Covered will offer the choice, value, quality and service our members deserve.”

In addition to advertising, L.A. Care will continue its community outreach efforts, hosting and participating in events across the county at grocery stores, shopping plazas, nail and hair salons, churches, libraries and schools, and more.
