L.A. Care Featured in Los Angeles Times Editorial as an Alternative Public Plan Model

An editorial in the Sunday, October 4, 2009, issue of the Los Angeles Times covers some of the core health care reform issues still being debated by Congress: subsidies for the uninsured and the creation of a public plan option.

L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation's largest public health plan, was referenced as a potential model that health care reform advocates should consider. For more than 10 years, L.A. Care has been successfully competing with a private plan in Medi-Cal managed care while improving quality and access to health care and still containing costs.
